Battery 2nd Degree

On February 19, 2017 at approximately 2101 hours, Deputy Landon Loe was dispatched to 5255 Highway 278 West in reference to a Battery 2nd.

 

Upon arrival he made contact with a woman who identified herself as Teresa Torres (later identified as Delma Torres) who stated that they were having a small party at the residence. Torres stated that Luna approached her and asked "do you have a problem with me.

 

Luna brandished a knife and stabbed Torres in the right calf. Torres stated that she then threw Luna to the ground and was able to wrestle the knife away from her.

 

Torres stated that prior to disarming Luna that Luna was attempting to stab her in the stomach and chest area. Victim stated that suspect then fled the scene in a Red GMC Yukon with an unknown license plate number with her two children in the vehicle with her. Pafford arrived on scene and administered first aid, and then transported Torres to St. Michael's in Texarkana.

 

At approximately 2325 hours on February 19, 2017 Iris Luna turned herself in at the Hempstead County Detention Center lobby and was placed under arrest. Then booked into the Hempstead County Detention Facility on a felony warrant with the City of Hope and Battery 2nd Degree for this incident she is awaiting a first court appearance.
