At approximately 10:28 P.M. on August 4, 2015 Deputy Luke Sorensen was dispatched to Howard Memorial Hospital in reference Domestic Battery in the Second Degree.

Investigators are investigating the multiple injuries to a 20 month old female. Deputies made contact with the grandmother of the one year old who told deputies that she hadn’t seen her granddaughter since May. The grandmother had been trying to locate the child and her mother for days when she saw the child and her mother in Wal-Mart. The grandmother noticed that the child was in a condition that the grandmother considered unhealthy and took the child from the mother to get medical care for the child.

Deputy Sorensen noticed multiple injuries on the child, bruises, and what appeared and what appeared to be burns as well as scars and what appeared to be blood on the child’s chin and in her left eye.

The child was transported to Arkansas Children’s Hospital for further treatment.

HCSO Criminal investigators are currently investigating the case to determine who will face criminal charges in this case.
