SCAM: Female posing as A Civil Process Server for the Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office Making Calls in reference to Civil Papers.

 

 

BEWARE of a female or male posing as Civil Process Servers for the Hempstead County Sheriff’s office. Our 870-777-6727 number to the Sheriff’s Office Shows up on the Caller ID they are calling from. THIS IS NOT ANYONE FROM OUR OFFICE.

 

The caller tells the person that they have a civil paper for a certain amount and they will accept a lesser payment if given a Credit Card Number to settle the account.

 

THIS IS A SCAM the Sheriff’s Office does not engage in accepting credit cards for civil papers nor do we have the authority to reduce any amount of a civil judgement. If receive a call from the 870-777-6727 number please call the sheriff’s office back and ask to speak with our civil Clerk Joycelyn Trotter or our Civil Deputy Rebeca Billings.

 

DO NOT GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER TO ANYONE!!!!!!!!!
